before the events of paradox live, 1 year prior rem (24) moves to japan after unfortunate circumstances revolving money. searches for a job and ultimately applied for club candy, owned by iori suiseki (27). gets a job as a hostess. it is important to note that she is living in a shitty rundown hotel on the very little money she had saved up.
originally, they didn’t talk often besides occasionally small talk. this changed when iori was observing the club and saw that rem wasn’t… really the best hostess… it was awkward for him to watch her getting frustrated, so he helped her out a little bit.
through this, they started forming a playful, mutual bond with each other. they became friends with a silly banter… and then they started doing a bit of flirting.
one thing leads to another, and rem begins developing feelings for iori. she keeps them to herself originally, because she’s afraid of rejection, has commitment issues due to her past, and she’s afraid of losing her job.
moving onto iori, he doesn’t quite understand rem. he finds her quite weird, actually, but he doesn’t really know why. he begins to do some investigating and finds out she’s been sort of lying to him. she told him that she comes from a wealthy family, so she is living a good humble life— when that’s not the case. he finds out the hotel that she lives in (which she’s close to getting kicked out of because she can’t afford the place while getting food and clothing for hosting), and decides to pay for the entirety of the next two months like the gentleman he is. rem doesn’t know that iori did this and just assumes god is on her side for once.
everything is going well! they’re still play-flirting, hanging around, and iori’s even taking her to fancy party things (random tasks he has to do for yakuza work and rem is there for no reason other than to be a +1). naturally, rem assumes her feelings might actually be reciprocated! after about a month of this, she decides to work up the courage of asking him out on a more formal date.
but what’s really funny about that is… iori rejects her. y’know, the thing rem was dreading the most? so obviously she’s embarrassed and she starts to separate herself from him just because she thinks she ruined everything (it lowkey did for a while). anytime he’d try to approach her, she would make an excuse to walk away. of course, she couldn’t quit. this was the only job willing to hire her after she applied to ≈30. plus, her paid hotel time was started to run out and she was still desperate for money. it’s also probably important to note rem is an alcoholic.
iori, being a little clueless when it comes to romance, doesn’t really understand why he’s being avoided. at first, he just assumed she needed some space because he does realize that being rejected sucks really bad. but… he was lowkey starting to miss her. every approach he made was shut down and it was starting to sting. he didn’t understand why he was getting worked about this when he had other things to worry about, so he turned to zen for advice.
he told zen everything, from how him and rem were pretty close to the confession to the rejection to how he’s feeling a weird emptiness in his life. classic zen, he immediately started crying and cheering. “waka won’t die alone afterall…!” that one earned him an iori punch. anyways, zen got serious and explained to him that he thinks iori was more effected by his own rejecting that he thought he’d be and that he should patch things up with rem. he encourages him to be honest and maybe he’ll get a date. after iori agrees to it, zen starts crying again. “waka’s really in love…. euegeuehehhey!!!!!!” iori got a headache.
when iori tries to approach her more often, he was mega shut down. it got to a point where she silently walked away while he was talking. it was BAD. from rem’s point of view, she did still like iori, but she couldn’t be anywhere close to him after all that. iori devises a plan to speak to her without being cut off!
the plan was to show up to her hotel room unannounced. mind you, rem didn’t even know that iori knew that she lived in a hotel!!! she told him she lived in a nice-ish apartment as a lie!! when she opened the door to see iori, she tried to slam the door in his face out of shock and because that was scary af, but he stuck his foot in between the door so he could seriously ask her to talk.
i’ll skip the details but basically they had a long conversation about what it meant for them to have feelings for each other, and iori was truthfulish as to why he wasn’t sure if he was ready to pursue anything serious. after this long ass talk, they planned a dinner date.
skipping ahead —> after a couple of dates, late night conversations, and just overall enjoying each others company, iori decides that he thinks this could be something. he still wasn’t 100%, but hey he’s trying new things! he’s a gangster, he can’t be afraid of a little love!
iori and his brothers come to rem’s hotel room one day and just start packing her stuff. she’s confused at first, and iori explains how she’s gonna be moved into the akyr house. when she’s like “that’s so unnecessary i don’t wanna intrude” iori’s just like “i’d literally be the worst boyfriend of all time if i let you live in a shitty hotel when i have a perfectly good house with a free room!” (true). and thus begins rem’s official journey as a member of the akanyatsura family!
during the events of paradox live akanyatsura has now entered paradox live. rem (25) (iori is 28 now) is their number one supporter, and is the 6men basically. the entirety of paradox live happens and rem is there lmao. there’s some fun facts in there, like rem being a kanata hater or her getting iori into marvel plus some relationship stuff that is SECRET!!!! for now lmao. they got married a little bit after road to legend (before anthem) by the way. also, rem is no longer a hostess and she is now a normal humble waitress at candy!
future au, years after paradox live they eventually decide they lowkey might want kids. iori (33) and rem (30) first have a son named kiko and then 2 years later they have a daughter named reina. very cute happy and silly family but this au will probably never leave my head because i’m embarrassed. i’m sorry.the ages listed aren’t 100% set because idk if they have intentions to age up the paralive cast. this would mean they have kiko like 4-5 years after paradox live but i don’t know yet…..
